CONFIGURING YOUR EMAIL CLIENT FOR OFFICE 365

Microsoft Office 365 is an online suite that has all the Windows products similar to Microsoft Office products. To access the Microsoft products using Office 365, users must subscribe to it. CONFIGURING YOUR EMAIL CLIENT FOR OFFICE 365

On Outlook 2013

  1. Launch the Outlook 2013 email client app on your computer and click the File menu located at the top.
  2. Choose Info > Account Settings > Account Settings.
  3. Under E-mail, click New. Then, enter the username, email address, and password of your email account.
  4. Choose the account type as IMAP or POP.
  5. Enter “outlook.office365.com” in the Incoming Mail Server field and “smtp.office365.com” in the Outgoing Mail Server field.
  6. Enter the other information regarding your email account and then click the More settings button.
  7. In the Outgoing Server panel, enable the authentication.
  8. You can also use the same email address and password as the logon information.
  9. Click the Advanced tab and enter the relevant server information referring to the server settings mentioned below.

    POP3:

    • Incoming Mail Server: outlook.office365.com
    • Port number: 995
    • Security required: SSL

    IMAP:

    • Incoming Mail Server: outlook.office365.com
    • Port number: 993
    • Security required: SSL

    SMTP:

    • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.office365.com
    • Port number: 587
    • Security enabled: TLS
  10. The server settings of Outlook varies according to the device and email client.
  11. Once the settings are done, click the OK button.
  12. When you return to the Add New Account window, click Next to continue.
  13. If the prompt window appears, tick the checkbox of Remember this password and select OK.
  14. Once the configuration is completed, click Finish to close the window.
  15. Close Outlook 2013, relaunch it, and check if you could access the email account.
